So when i found out my nearest dollar store was in fact a Japanese dollar store i knew i had the perfect excuse to go on a 'minor' shopping spree and of course a little adventure!  Walking around the store i decided what could be more perfect than making a bento box and of course a bag to carry it in with things from a Japanese store.  So without further ado here are the before pics:

And not pictured from the stash was the green fabric (previously bought at value village, most likley for a dollar aswell....) And the red and green yarn kindly donated by my aunt to practice my crochet so i didn't waste the good stuff.  Also of course general notions such as thread a glue were found lying around.

And now the after pics:

This sign says something like 'welcome'.

inside with pocket and same fabric lining.

These straps will not some off!!!

Actions shots!

And now the bento box:

This was decorated with the origami paper and the little container came with some ice cream i had had.

Action shot

And now because your sick of pictures two more to show just how pretty UW is in the spirng- and served as part of my Japaneses inspiration!

Holy Crap!

The stitching where the strap meets the bag is RAD!

Love it!   Cool

So cute!  I love the bag..  haha, I thought it was much smaller than it really is.. when I saw the action shots my head was like wtf!  It's totally cute though, I love the stitch work where the straps connect to the bag Smiley

The bag says "goyukkuri okutsurogi kudasai" which literally means "slowly bid farewell, please." More idiomatically, it means "Make yourself at home."  Smiley

Great idea!! Where I'm at, we have good old American dollar stores.  I need, need, need a Japanese dollar store or a Chinese dollar store.  That bag and bento box are really awesome.

Hey, I was just there checking out the cherry blossoms a couple of weeks ago.  It was a little early, but they were still beautiful.  Smiley

Nice project too!
