I had this old keyboard and I was planning on stringing the keys together to make jewelery or something... but jewelery is not my cup of tea. So i filled the keys with grout and attatched magnets, the grout acting as a lovely adhesive, and now here we have some of the magnets I made. I have yet to make the alphabet keys into magnets, but that will happen sooner or later.

very cute. I bought some pink and purple keyboard magnets in Target that said "angel,' "love," ect. which were a complete rip off. these are very cool!

I was thinking it might be fun to paint and put different letters/pictures on the keyboard key magnets.

On an amusing note, I bought one of those fake keyboard keys from a store once.  It was red and said something along the line of emergency, or something like that.  I can't quite remember.  But at the time my mother was just starting to learn to use the computer, and before she ever used it, the key got stuck right in over the escape key.  She never knew any better... that is until I asked if she'd used it and then explained it.  It was amusing.

I really like the keyboard magnets.  I'm going to have to locate some old keyboards and try that. Smiley

 Cheesy When I saw the words "keyboard" and "magnets" I was a little worried for a sec--computers and magnets don't mix well ^_^;;
Well, anyway, brain spasms aside, this is a really cool idea. If only I had an extra keyboard hanging around *sigh*. Undecided

LOL - This is Excellent!  I have several keyboards that have been victims to Fresca, Coffee and OJ and have been wondering what to do with them.  (Kudos to those who keep a supply of rubbing alchohol on hand for emergencys such as these.  Someday I will be one of you :>)  Thanks for the super idea!

How fun!  I used to make jewelry out of old keyboards, and got really bored with it.  This sounds like way more fun.
