haha ok well i'm crocheting a cow for my friend and i don't really know what to do with the butt! everytime i do it it comes out looking like this:



how can i fix this?
also i was wondering, how can i make a tail for the cow? what should it look like?

Well, when you finish closing up the hole, take a tapestry needle and thread the remaining yarn onto it and poke it into the center and out through any spot on the side of the doll.  Pull it tight and it should make it flatter.  Then cut the yarn close to the body.

I think if you chain a few stitches from that point, finish it off and add some fringe to the end in the dark color you have an instant cow tail.

alright i chained a few and single crocheted in the chains, this is what i got.


 hows it look? and i dont really know how to make a fringe/tassel thing at the end of it...?

It looks like a tail! too cute!
Cut a few long pieces of the other color then follow the directions on this link from step 4 down. You can use more than one strand of yarn at a time. I'd say 2 or three would be perfect.

And instead of a scarf base you're going to attach them to the last stitch on your tail.
If  you have more than one stitch just pick the one that looks closest to the center or do 2 strands per stitch at the bottom of the tail.
