Hey, I am planning on a world wide trip next summer and wondered if any other my fellow craftsters would know of the places I must stop off on my way over USA and New Zealand.

I am really into knitting and other wool crafts and more recently cross stitch and embroidery.

Any help or advice would be really appreiciated!

Hi I recently went on a trip to Monterey and Carmel and think this could be worth a visit especially Carmel, ( just down the road from San Fran) both town have loads of Art gallery/shops etc. The scenery is fantastic I make jewellery and came away with loads of images and ideas in my brain. Monterey is also the home of the Famous cannery row and there are a few shops there which have a crafty feel about it.The whole atmos of the area is just so relaxing and arty loved it.

Hi i just got back from Las Vegas and LA.

The fashion district in LA is amazing - there is just street after street of bead, fabric and yarn shops and so cheap!

In Las Vegas and i would imagine accross most of the USA (You'll be able to search for them) Michaels and Joanns are great for cross sttch, fabric, wool etc
and Stitchers Paradise is the best cross stitch shop, you can easily spend a couple of hours in there.

If your anything like me you might want to take an empty suitcase with you!

If you want any more details of whereabouts these are, let me know as i still have all the address  Smiley
