Hi there,  these are two of my "Journal Skirts" that I made last year...  another person's project on here reminded me to post this.

The first one is a skirt that I made while my husband was in Iraq...  I missed him *awww* so I printed out pictures of him onto iron-on photo transfer material,  used permanent marker to write out a bunch of cool quotes about being a military wife, about love and devotion *awww* and embellished it with a bunch of sequins, buttons, ric-rac and charms.

and the back:

The next skirt I made from an old pair of levis, ripped out the seams and added the panels.  The pictures are nude vintage ladies that were printed from the 'net and I covered the nakie bits with inspirational quotes so I could wear it in public and not frighten little children Wink  The quotes are all inspirational and about creativity etc.
This one was embellished with cut up pieces of lace doilies, more sequins, ribbon roses and charms as well.

and the back:

These are real "attention grabbers" when worn in public...  Everyone wants to stop and read your skirt. lol.

Anyways,  check out this girl's skirts.... they're SOOO fab!

These are terribly lovely. Definitely many steps above my jeans that I would doodle on with marker in high school. The photo patches really pull them together, and I love the flower detail at the top of the fabric triangle on the second skirt.  What a wonderful idea!

I am on this site almost everyday looking at stuff, but this is quite possibly one of my top five favorite things I've seen on here. I love the idea of those skirts. They're beautiful, and very original. I must hop down to the thrift store and buy me a skirt, or some jeans that I can do that do.

I love your skirt!  It's kind of like the jeans I wrote french phrases on... I love it!

I really do love the concept, and your execution is just beautiful.  I'm a bit of a failed art journaler myself (I've discovered I have issues with spontinaeity), but what I've done would most likely translate well into this medium.

I've always liked the idea of writing on one's clothing, but felt that the many "I was bored in class, had a sharpie, and had *insert trendy music here* stuck in my head" pants/skirts/shoes/what-have-you lacked something.  This?  This gives me ideas.
