I'm trying to use up my fabric stash so that I can have my utility room back.  Here are two things I've made recently:

An Easter dress for my daughter (and matching baby-doll dress).
My daughter's dress was made with a store bought pattern, but the doll dress pattern I drafted on my own:

I also made this veggietales shirt for my nephew, who is 4.  It was supposed to be his Christmas present, but I didn't get to see him, so I ended up sending it in the mail just after Valentine's day.  When he got the shirt, my nephew called me up and told me, "I like pickle-man and Bob, but next time could you make me a Batman one?"

I've also got a romper in the works for my daughter.  I've just got to put the buttons on and the snaps.  Unfortunately my local craft store doesn't carry snap tape, so I think I have to sew on the snaps individually . . .

Wow, you did a great job on those!  I'll bet your adorable daughter LOVES the fact that her baby matches her.  Mine would be thrilled.  Do you have any tips for creating a baby doll dress?  I've never tried that and my youngest would love it, I'm sure.  I love the Veggie Tales shirt too and the comment from your nephew-- too cute.

Both are too cute!  My girls love Veggie Tales.

Where did you get the fabric for your daughters dress?

I'll bet your adorable daughter LOVES the fact that her baby matches her.
I'm not sure she's aware that she matches.  She's only 18 months old.  But, she does realize that the babydoll has different clothes on than before, and she seems to be happy about it.  As for making the babydoll dress, I didn't stress over it, and I think that's important.  The bodice and the sleeves were the only part that needed a pattern.  I just measured around the baby's waist, from her neck to her waist, and shoulder to shoulder.  I added seam allowance and drafted out a pattern on paper.  The sleeves I just winged.  They were bigger than the opening, so I just folded them over a couple times up top which made them poofy.
For the back, I cut my bodice pattern in half vertically, and added a little more than an inch to opening, so that there would be some overlap.  I cut out a lining for the bodice as well.  The skirt is just a long tube that I gathered.

And, probably a good tip is to use velcro for the enclosure.  No need to sew in a zip for a babydoll, unless you just have little zippers on hand!

Where did you get the fabric for your daughters dress?
I got the lambs fabric at Joann's last year.  I had made a ring sling with it for my sister-in-law, but I had bought wayyy to much fabric, so I decided it would make a good easter dress for my girl.
The veggietales fabric was given to me by a friend.  There's yards and yards of it which she was going to make curtains with, so I had enough to make that shirt, and I still have a whole lot left.

I don't know which is cuter, the dress or the lil' munchkin.  They are both adorable.  LOVE the shirt, too.  "Bob and the pickleman" are the best!!
