Hi everyone!  This is actually my very first sewn purse ever!  I used the bias tape tut. that someone posted on here the other day (http://www.belleepoquewhimsy.com/bias-tape-tote-tute).  I have been dying to use this Amy Butler fabric for months!
Thanks for looking.

Gorgeous fabric and gorgeous bag!  Please tell us what you think about the bias tape handles of the bag... I have been hesitant to make that bag because of the skinny bias tape bag handles!  (Maybe I'm being a goof!)

Would love to hear what you think about the handles!

Thanks for sharing!

I really like that.  Great fabric choice.

1 question, how the heck did you get the pattern to print?

Hi everyone.

lulu, are you using a mac?  I tried getting it to print on a mac and it wouldn't work, but it worked on a Dell.

Juaniece, I was hesitant about the handles too, but they seem to hold up fine.  I really like it.  The bag is super light.  If you do it, be careful when you stitch the bias tap on (particularly the handle part).  I didn't cut my fabric so it was exactly matching the lining so I had a few issues where I had to go back and hand stitch the bias tape to fully cover the material.

This was my first purse and I think it wasn't hard at all, so I'd totally go for it if you guys want to make it.  I'll let you know if I have any issues with the handles falling apart or something.

I saw this tutorial as well and had the same concern about the handles- I was thinking about making my own bias tape to be able to make the handles thicker

I love this style too. The Roots store in our mall here sells ones just like this. I own one in light blue and navy blue. Now I am excited that I can make my own. I'm making a trip to the fabric store today and sewing one up this afternoon!

What a neat bag!  I have printed the pattern and made notes.  I don't have any bias tape and live a ways from a store that carries such.  I think I will take a contrasting fabric and fold it to use instead of the bias tape!!
