so one of my dogs sometimes goes after some of my clothes & it can be really distressing. in fact, i hadn't even the chance to wear this top more than once before my furry friend Pablo got a hold of it. BUT his destruction was a blessing in disguise because it inspired this dress.

the bodice is a stretch mossomino top from target. the skirt of this dress features some vintage calico from my collection.  and although some of the fabric got a little too much sun, i think it adds to the depth and vintage-y feel to this dress.  each tier was gathered with my serger.

the sweetest part about this dress is the act that i made my own bias tape and affixed to the bottom hem.  you can find the super easy tutorial here http://www.supernaturale.com/glitter/viewtopic.php?t=14188
......and i do recommend getting a bias tape maker, but it is possible to do it without. i've done it either way and have had great success. the tool just makes the works go by faster.

the underskirt features elastic waist & i laid out the tiers of the underskirt so that there is a bright color pop underneath the dress.

enjoy!  i definitely plan to do my recons in this fashion.........very comfy!

bias fun!!! you'll never buy bias tape again. mooohahahahahah!!  Grin

That dog totally knew what he was doing. I love it. Good job making your own bias tape by the way.

I bought a bias tape maker a few weeks ago without having ANY knowledge on how to use it. Thanks for posting that link once I read it, an "ooohhhh" moment snaped in my head! Thanks!  Grin
