ACTION SHOT!!! of skirt

Careful readers will not have missed my 4YO's fascination with the Land of OZ, the Magical Countries Surrounding OZ ... and everything OZ-ian, as she would put it. On Saturday whilst she (aka Dorothy) was off on adventure with her brother (aka Billina) and father aka Cap'n Bill Ozma and Polly Chrome "delivered" this Ozma type headdress and a new fairyskirt for Dorothy. I made a terrific mess of the fairy skirt. She don't mind! Somewhere on my husband's computer are more action shots ... will post an update  as soon as I can get ahold of those shots!

Here is dear Ozma as drawn by O'Neil ...

Love it!  My favorite is the headband because I've never seen anything like it.  So cute.

ADORABLE! I love the fairy skirt! Your girl is super cute in that picture too!

Thank you. Funda -- the skirt is pretty ordinary (though I think the bad stitching is rather extraordinarily bad ;-)) Looking at the Ozma picture I posted makes me think I might add an OZ emblem and some ribbon to the headdress -- The headdress is made from a girl's headband -- the cloth covered sort of bendy kind. I wrapped it with rainbow ribbon and glued down either end with Fabric Tac. The flowers the fabric kind from Joan's but I pulled them apart to get rid of the plastic and then sewed petals from a peony type and a hydrangea together and glued them onto the headband again with the fabric tac.

Thanks BadVal -- I must figure out how to keep the netting from slipping and the blanket edge from warpling too! ARGGGGGGHHHHH!

Oh, BLUSH, SS! She does seem to love it. Funny little girl! The petals in the skirt is swiped from other skirts I have seen. Only "me" innovation on the skirt is likely the darker colors!

(Is that your pup in the avatar photo? Sweet!)

What a gorgeous skirt! I love petal skirts, and that headband is beautiful too! You did such a good job on this! Your little looks so happy hehe...

That is so cool!  I love the headdress!!!!  I wish my 5 yr old was obsessed with Oz rather than Zoey 101 or Hannah Montana  Roll Eyes  You did a great job on both Smiley

Thanks Leesah! Zooey 101? Hannah Montana I noticed the other day but we are so out of it I haven't met Zooey yet. Gonna Google her right up. I am sure that with such a creative Ma, whomever your 5YO admires is creatively made thoroughly her own.

Poison! You are kind. She is a happy kid and a craftster to be ... when she see something she likes she says "Can we make one at home? Only let's change it a little ... " Her favorite colors right now are blue and grey.
