Paper - please get some Canson, or other paper that is intended for archival work.  Canson Mi Tients has about a zillion colors and they are acid-free.  Any good art store, and even Michael's, would have good paper intended for pastels or color pencil drawings.

These are just beautiful, and you want to create on paper that will last a lifetime.  I like the third one the best.
