so, i'm completely addicted to BPAL (http://www.blackphoenixalchemylab.com/ - the best smells on the planet)
which is good because it's an addiction which blends nicely with crafting
storing and sorting imps (sample vials) is a very big concern in my life right now  Grin
i found these great plastic ammo boxes at dick's sporting goods

but they look like... well, ammo boxes
i have a few other chicks i swap with and i want to do up a box for each of them
just looking for some more ideas for materials to use on the textured plastic
i can think of a few ways of attacking them, but i bet you folks around here will have a lot better ones!!!

i'm afraid that i don't have any suggestions, aside from perhaps spray paint (the kind made for plastic).  but i completely understand your obsession, as i suffer from it myself.  right now, my imps are in altoids tins.  however, the ammo box seems like a better idea, organization-wise.  and you because they're kept upright, you don't have to worry about spilling the precious.   (i may need one...)
