very cute!  i've never done a zipper, so i think it looks great! lol

9 is very young to begin menstruating.  has she seen a dr about it?  i've heard of them giving meds to stop them menstruating for a couple more years.

Poor baby! That's so early. But she gets a great gift out of it. I know when my daughter starts her peroid I'm going to spoil her rotten.

Wow, I couldn't even comprehend starting my period at 9. I was a late starter but I think it's just made them all the more uncomfortable! This tote will most surely cheer her up, it has done for me!

That little bag is great! I'm sure she will love it.  I started early too, when I was 10 and I hated having to carry stuff around in my backpack. I'm sure a cute little bag like that would have made me feel better. Smiley

I would love to do a personal swap!  I can sew, knit, and crochet.  I have a 9 year old who loves to do swaps as well so we can do a mommy/daughter swap package. Smiley

Nine is young, but not outlandish. Giving meds to stop it would seem a little bit overkill to me. There are always a few kids that experience early onset of puberty.

You did an awesome job and are a good aunt. Smiley

Wow, you did a great job - the zipper looks great. Having a nice bag like that will help your niece to not be embarrassed about having her period. I can't imagine starting at 9 yrs., how sucky to start so young. You are a great aunt.

"happy" and "period" aren't two words that I would EVER use in the same sentence...but this little pouch is a different story! Its totally adorable and you did an awesome job on the embroidery. I can't believe your niece is only 9! I swear they're getting younger and younger. At least she has a cute little pouch to make her feel a bit better.
