My first crafty post here.... please be kind! Wink

First up, my ex had this huge trunk that he was going to use as a coffee table in his apartment, but the top was quite scratched and ratty.  After going through dozens of Guitar World, Guitar One, and Guitar Player magazines, hand cramp from scissors, and a roll of contact paper, I had this trunk all spiffied up for him!  Of course, after we broke up, I had to leave it behind in his apartment.  Sigh.  Oh well, I'm decoupaging my own Monopoly trunk! Smiley

And when I got my own apartment, I made myself this adorable little side table.  My mom was throwing out this round table, which was in terrible condition on the top.  My dad and I had recently got a huge crate full of empty CD cases at a yard sale, still with all the inserts and covers.  I chose my favourites of the bunch (plus a Monkees catalog), glued them on top, applied contact paper, and finished the edges with black duct tape.

Any questions or comments are very much appreciated! Smiley

Thanks!  That one's definitely my favourite one as well. Cheesy  And to think- it cost me absolutely nothing!  Just a trash table, CD cases were free (my dad gave them a couple bucks anyway, as they were students and we felt bad taking something from their yard sale for free) and the contact paper/duct tape I already had!  now that's my way to furnish an apartment! Wow that little table is pretty wicked.
I think I'll hunt around out back of the apartment for things being tossed...
I have a crap-load of fashion mags that would look so cool.

pretty awesome! I just found out about "decoupage" not too long ago. Haven't done any projects though. I have this very very plain wood table in my storage unit... I think I'm gonna attack it after we move into our new condo (2 weeks away!!!!)...... not sure what I'll cover it with, but I'm thinking D&D stuff for my husband- he is SUCH a D&D guy lol.
:-) Look at all the pretty colours :-)

The coffee table looks so professional.  Great job.
