I know this sweater has been posted on here before but I am just so proud of making this that I want to show it off to everyone!

When I found out my best friend was having a girl this June, I knew I wanted to knit a sweater for her. I fell in love with this pattern and resolved to make one in pink. I hand-dyed the yarn myself.

The pattern is called "Presto Chango" by Valerie Wallis and can be found here:

I recommend it for any novice knitter. The construction was as simple as it gets and it went very quickly. The changes I would make if I were to ever make another would be to take three stitches off the length of each sleeve and decrease the width of the back by four stitches.

I am going to knit a hat out of the same yarn for the baby, too. If I have enough yarn left after the hat, a pair of booties will be next.

This is the first garment I've ever knit. I am considering it my graduation from scarves and now I'm ready to tackle an adult-sized sweater for myself.

Very cool, I made one myself a little while ago, isn't it the best pattern? I think it looks very sweet in pink too! Well done!!

This pattern is so lovely. I've bookmarked it even though there are no babies anywhere near me!
I suppose you could change the middle front panel to different designs and colours :d

I love love this pattern, it's such a brilliant idea! You did a fantastic job on it, especially dyeing your own yarn. It's beautiful.

Beautiful sweater and well done.  Love the color.  Going to look at the pattern as I have a Grand baby in the future. Grin
