ok so ive never knitted anything before but i wanna make this sweater
how do i use a pic for a pattern and whats the whole needle/yarn gauge thing?

Ah, well, knitting needles and yarn would be a good start Smiley  But I'd say practice a few times first until your stitches are even and you're comfortable knitting and purling before you attack intarsia.
