I have crafting ADHD.

I was looking at my profile this morning, and was a little shocked when I saw that my join date was January 2005 and my post count is 0.  I'm not an anti-social person, mind you.  I've racked up 20,000 posts on another board in that amount of time.  And it's not a case of joining a site and never returning...I'm on here at least once a day!  I can't figure it out.  I have no clue why I've had writer's block for 3 friggin' years!!  So I'll make my grand entrance now, and pretend that the previous silent years never happened.  And let that serve as a warning, because I'm pretty chatty!

My name is Ashley, and I live in Jacksonville, Florida.  I'm 28 and have been crafting as long as I can remember.  My mother was a crafter as well, and used to sell at craft shows when I was little.  I think that's where the passion came from.  I, like my mother, like to try a little of everything.  I have a touch of ADD when it comes to crafting.  I'll start something, and then get bored with it, and pick it up a month or so later and finish.  There is never less than 5 unfinished projects strewn around the house, much to my husband's displeasure.

My main love is making jewelry, and mostly for dolls.  I started selling jewelry for 16 inch fashion dolls on eBay in 1999, and the response fueled the passion.  Since that time, I have learned to sew, so I'm also making clothing.  I recently completed my first full-sized project and made myself and my daughter garb to wear at RenFaire.  This weekend will be spent making costumes for Megacon.  I'll hopefully be proud enough to post pictures of the results!

In addition to loving dolls, I love comic books and anime and both inspire my crafting.  I make a lot of cosplay jewelry based on items from both genre.  One of my main crafting themes is making comic book items that are girl-friendly and frilly.

So anyway, I should cut off here.  I warned you that I was chatty!  I look forward to starting out my 4th year as a more active participant and meeting other crafters!

Having an open mind isn't a bad thing. Just don't open it so wide that your brain falls out.
