I saw this awesome post https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=227956.0 and it hit me right away - this would be a perfect embroidery project!  I love Hertzfeldt's stuff, and this looks great in my kitchen.  I'm doing a series of 12 8x8" embroideries to fill our huge blank kitchen wall.  Sorry I can't put in pictures yet...

a slightly closer view:

and a slightly older image of the huge wall.  DH already put in all the nails (perfectly level and spaced) to motivate me to get them done.  There are two here, I've completed a third, and Rejected is the fourth.

Thanks for looking!

Haha! I'm loving all the Hertzfeldt crafting going on! I can watch "rejected" every day of my life and still laugh. I think you've inspired my next embroidery project!

I'm feeling fat and sassy. .. . Goyaaaaa!!!!

This is awesome. I saw that spoon rest by the other craftster member and had a similar thought as you but you jumped right on it. This is totally freakin' great. I love the rejected film series. Great job converting it with needle and thread.

Very nice embroidery!
How did you mount it? Did you embroider on cotton and attach it to a frame?

Thank you, Ritapizza!

Yes, sort of.  I used white quilter's cotton and bought 4 8-inch stretcher strips to form the frame, then put an 8x8 piece of white matboard behind the embroidery, wrapped the edges and stapled them down.

I got the technique from Aimee Ray's Doodle-Stitching book, and I really like the airy simplicity of it.
