As soon as I saw this fabric that combines Elvis and turquoise (two of my very favorite things), I knew it had to be a purse for me to carry at SXSW, the big music festival here in Austin in mid-March.

It's from a McCall's pattern, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, considering that I've never made a handbag before. 

Anyhow, here's the pictures:

I promise the pockets aren't as crooked as they look in this picture!

Finally, a close up of the fabric-- how fun is this?



Thanks for looking.  I don't think I'm going to be able to wait two weeks to show it off-- I'll have to take it out on the town with me tonight!
