I've seen these around in paper and fabric.  I like the concept, but I'm not much of a paper-crafter.  So I gave them a try with stitching.  Here is how they turned out:

They are fun.  As you can see they all didn't end up being an inch.  Cheesy  I kept cutting them too small, trying to make them exactly one inch, so I switched to cutting them so there was enough room for sewing them together.

I love the little pirate and martini ones!  They look like they'd all be fun to make.  I'll keep them in mind.  I always need small projects I can do in the living room with the family.

ahhh!  these are awesome...stitchies!  I want to have a stitchy swap now...they could be an inch and one half square so then you would have a seam allowance...oh my brain is spinning with the possibilites!

Thanks, all!  They really are fun and pretty quick. Smiley  Lots of possibilities for doing fun things with them.  They reminded my of little sew-on patches.  They would be great for sewing on other things.
