how do you hem circle skirts?  every time i try the edges just look weird because there are folds on the hem.  am i supposed to clip the edges to make them lie flat?  please help!

i guess i get carried away sometimes...

i love it! circle skirts rock! and yours is great, it's pretty with just the right amount of attitude. Cheesy and i'm also wondering about how to put in another layer so you wouldn't have to wear a slip?

great job!!

Very cool. Love it. Looks so pritty, I think the green might be a bit to hard for it, but it still looks grate. I love it, ttl want one. I would by it in a flash.
Yeah, I agree the green does look a bit too hard for it.  Maybe if the slip underneath was a different color it wouldn't be.  Still very nice skirt though.

you could add another layer underneath, but not on top, and just by sewing it to the inside of the waistband. i think that adding a third layer might still be a bit see through, but if you used a laced without as many holes as mine had, then three layers would be fine i think. you could also just sew a solid colored lining underneath, which wouldn't be as slippy as an actual slip.

something poignant here.

wow, that skirt is gorgeous! I have been trying to find a skirt that is not so plain as the regular circle skirt but not so fluffy as a tu-tu-ish tulle creation. is there anything special about the lace? is it the stretchy type or just normal lace? I will have to run to the fabric store soon because I would love to make this. it's a lovely skirt.

it is not stretchy lace. and i didnt get enough of it to make the circle part longer that 15 inches, so i had to sew one layer to the top seam of the wasitband, and the other layer to the bottom seam. just try to figure out beforehand how much you want Smiley

something poignant here.

wow, that's awesome. I don't think the waistband is too hard at all - it sets off the lace, gives it a nice contrast.  it makes the skirt edgy instead of just pretty.  and the fabric on the waistband is stunning. where did you pick it up?
