I've just finished my own patchwork skirt project -- except I didn't use tees.  I used an old tiered, silk peasant skirt with loads of material.  It took about 3 weeks for me to complete.  Will post with pics...

Thanks so much for the tutorial. I've had this bookmarked for ages and finally got one finished for my small daughter. I fussy cut the pocket, she loves that part. I also added triangles to the bottoms for a straighter hem, it still needs actually hemming but it's totally wearable as is.
