I wanted to make a Moderne Log Cabin Blanket from Mason-Dixon Knitting but I knew I would never finish it. So I calculated the dimensions for the Moderne Log Cabin Baby Blanket and doubled the width and length of each block and made it into a quilt.

These colors are much more true:

The original is done in garter stitch, which I love the look of because it of the lines it creates.  I wanted to create the same feeling in my quilt, so I quilted each color in a different direction:

The binding is pieced from the leftovers from the top, and the backing is a taupe colored globe print

I didn't think I could manage a bed-sized quilt (this one measures 57" x 77"), but it was a lot more fun than I would have thought.  I'm already working on my next one!

The quilting is genius! Without, it might have been a little bland. Now it has the perfect amount of texture and visual interest. Nice one!

Very nice!  The quilting caught my attention right away and when you said you had quilted each color in a different direction, I just had to check that each color was done the same and it was!  In my opinion, that makes it much better (or maybe I should say much more professional)

Thanks so much for all the compliments.  I got the idea to quilt each color in a different direction here:
