...Mill End Textiles in Crystal is SO worth the drive.

They have cheap fabric and a LOT of different kinds and types of it, including loads of batiks, holiday fabrics all year round, tons of fleece and loads of quiliting fabrics.

They have a remmants table with .25/yard scraps, which is worth the digging (and gives you an added thrill of the hunt!).

They give you freebies sometimes - for instance, on a return, I got .49 of free fabric because they didn't want to bother with the paperwork.

They have awesome sales - 60% off coupons are going around right now...

AND it's literally pretty much right by my house...which is, of course, an added plus for all of you. Grin

It's on 42nd Avenue, right off of 100. If anyone wants to go and needs more detailed instructions, let me know.

On a swapping hiatus due to college...

Ooooh, thanks for reminding me about this place! A couple of years ago, I did a project with some kids that required a lot of fleece and I got some more unique prints there for something like $1.99/yard. This store gets a thumbs up from me, as well.

Mill End is close to me as well and I've drive by it many times but it looks so.....blah, that I've never gone in.  Thanks for the heads up!  I do go to S.R. Harris all the time, such a boon!

The pleasure of finishing a project made with my own two hands and creativity.  It's what keeps me sane in an otherwise crazy world.  That and the Prozac.
where do we go from here?

I was so sad when Mill End closed near me (recently).  Though, I was lucky enough to get 12 yards of perfect fabric for a costume of mine for $14.
