Lufah :oh oooh ahhhhhhh, are you going to sell that coiled yarn?!!!!!!

« Reply #21 on: February 08, 2008 08:20:32 AM »

I don't even know where to begin...  everything is so beautiful and inspiring this week (as ever...)  5 ply???  Super coils!!!  textured yarns, smooth yarns, color....  sigh.

All I know is that it is 9:18 am and I can not WAIT to get home from work to get my hands into the fiber that showed up yesterday from the Spunky Fiber of the Month (my first one!!  eee!!)

Come on 5 o'clock!!

if you can't be a good example then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

Hi, I'm not a spinner (though I hope to be someday), but I just wanted to say that I look at Fiber Friday every Friday it's up and love basically everything I see. This week is no different, and I especially love all the yarns that jazzturtle did on the first page.

You all do lovely, lovely work and make my day every Friday. Smiley

How does one go about spinning a coiled yarn? I keep seeing these lovely yarns with coils and would love to know ho w to do them!
Are they jsut way over spun and then allowed to coil?

I am loving all the yarns this week ladies! You are doing great!

i don't spin but i have roving and tons of yarn because i love to use fiber in my jewelry.

so, question about coiling yarn
is it kind of like coiling a wire around another wire
kind of like this:

i'd like to make some of this for my jewerly pieces and i only need them in 20" lengths or less. soooo, i was thinking maybe i could do this myself without a spinning wheel. Huh?

LOVE the coil yarn--how fun!

I also love "Vintage."  It's a great name for a beautiful yarn.

My contribution this week is 148yards of merino from Fat Cat Knits on etsy.  I've named this lovely beast "Neptune's Day."
