At my high school each senior has to complete a "learning" project in order to graduate. The topic can be anything the student desires. Some remodel basements, some build rocking chairs, some learn languages, learn to quilt etc. For mine I chose to decorate cakes Grin Since I've been vegan for a year plus, all of my cakes are not only beautiful, they're vegan as well... well, I think so anyways Smiley

These are pictures of a cake I made to practice using Fondant, it was my first time working with it and I was SO proud of how it turned out, even though the heart shape was complicated I really enjoyed working with the fondant.

Keep your eyes peeled, the project requires 40 hours of work so I'll be posting plenty of cakes Wink

Good job!  Fondant is not easy to work with, especially with a shape like that!

Wow. That's really awesome.
I wish my school had something like that. How do you prove that you've done it/how do they keep track?
I think actually making something or learning something on your own time can be a lot more valuable than whatever percent you get in some course.

That cake looks really cool. Would be a great gift for valentines day. Cheesy
I never heard of such learning projects. In my school they only teach drawing.  Sad
