Ok, so I'm going to make a hoodie for a friend for her birthday. It's got a kanga pocket, a pointed hood and sleeves that are kinda wide. First I was going to make it in a single colored velour, but I thought that was kinda boring so I think I want to use two colors. But I can't decide which combination I like best!

Please take a look at this pic and tell me which ones you like best? It doesn't necessarily have to be orange and yellow, but they will be pretty alike and one would be darker than the other.

Please excuse my crappy paint skills, I can't draw with a mouse  Grin

Oh and if you can think of an even better combo, do tell me!

Thanks!

EDIT: I forgot to say that I was thinking about doing some freehand embroidery with my machine at some places, like the bottom of the sleeves, hood and maybe half the pocket. In a color very similar to the fabric but possibly glittery. Is that a good idea?

i like 3 because it's very subtle with the accent color. definately don't break up the arm with two colors and i think the hood looks best in the color of the body.

Thank you, keep em coming Smiley
I just realised that I had none with completely orange arms and orange body on it. But that would of course be an alternative also. And no 4 is not meant to be different on the arms, it's just so you can see what it would look like with either combination.

I'm a fan of two and five, but really liked the quirky surprise of number four with one sleeve being different than the other (in fact, I can see introducing a whole new colour/pattern/texture outside the monochromatics you've got going on here)...but then I kind of boycott symmetry whenever I can, so I may be a wee bit biased.

I like #7.  Though that probably doesn't help since everyone here is picking something different. lol.

2nd #5

I like these combo's the best. Then it would depend on the actual color to decide which was the body.  I would use her favorite color and a nice accent.

Can't wait to see a picture when it's all done.

Personally, I like the one with the subtle accents as well, number three. I am not sure what size your friend is, but here is something to keep in mind. If you do a pocket that lies in front of the stomach in another color than the body of the garment, then the eye is automatically going to be drawn to the stomach. Which is probably fine if your friend is a smaller girl, but just keep it in mind. Also, I would strongly suggest AGAINST cutting the arm off at the elbow with another color. If you wanted to do the arm with another color, at least do the whole arm. But I like lining the hood and lining the pocket with another color, I think that's nice.
