my girlfriend had her first baby on sunday and we're all overjoyed at his arrival.  she is "older", miscarried her first pregnancy, and had a rocky time with this one (lots of bedrest early on).  so she was a high risk pregnancy and we all had our beady little eyes on her just hoping she'd marinade that kid until he was healthy and ready to do a meet and greet with us.  much to our pleasure and with the help of some happy drugs, he was two days overdue.  hooray.  when i found out she was having a boy, i made these:

here are some closeups:

of course you need the mom tattoo.

they're way into music.  she has sung at the grand ole opry and both of them are very talented people, musically.  they even named him after sebastian bach.  her singing is my happy place.

more music-related.  originally i was going to fill this in with black.  then i changed my mind, but the thread shed in the fabric so now i'm thinking i may go back and fill it in again.  don't know if washing it will make it come out.

who doesn't love a quirky robot?

goldfish...big lips and all.

i think i'd propose to this robot if i was made of metal and buttons.  so here's more robot love:

they brought him home from the hospital today hopefully next week i'll get to go spend some more time with him and give him these.  i've got another pack of shirts to make, but school started back up today, so we'll see if that happens.  i'm so happy for them, i could just spit.

what WOULD willie do?

Love the robot !!! These are too cute. Things mean so much more when you add good juju to them. Embroidery is a great way to do that. Congratulations to your friend and great job on your gifts. I know that she will love them.

I made a sewn project for the shower but will definitely do onesies once my friend's baby is born - no clue on the sex yet but it's just a matter of weeks

*must do the mom tattoo*
