You could call me a lurker, though I've posted a couple times before... this forum and the general finished clothing projects forum are my favorite forums on this site. Everyone does such great work, it makes me both envious and proud, in a weird way. Wink I'm a bit of a chicken; haven't had the guts to post much of what I've sewn thus far. Thanks for the ideas, guys!
My dad gave me a heavy cotton sweater with a dark green plaid that was much too big for him, but very comfortable. (I slept in it on cold nights.) Now, it's a little more flattering. It hits about four to six inches below my hip, making it tunic length-ish. I added a single pocket on my right hip out of extra sleeve material. I left the sleeves kind of wide and flappy because I think they're cute that way... they remind me of kimono styled tops. (I haven't hemmed the sleeves yet...  Embarrassed) I cut off the knit collar and make my own... uh... more daring neckline. I'm not sure if I like it. It feels a little bare.
This is my first real recon, so please, be gentle.  Smiley Any comments, criticism, or suggestions are welcome. Sorry if the pictures suck. Thanks for reading!

I so love how that came out. you could always trim the neckline and sleaves with a little brown leather if you felt it needed alittle pop of something but it looks pretty awesome the way it is.
