For Christmas I made my husband this doll, its meant to look like a character from a comic he likes to read.

I only gave him one eyebrow because in the pictures of him ive seen he seems to allways be raising one eyebrow, no mouth cause well i never see that eather
Im proud of his little hakama pants after days of trying to figure out how to properly tie the bow i gave up and just made it a regular bow.

I made him from a stuffed animal seal, his eyes are from baby shoes, extra fabric from my husbands wedding outfit , a belt I never used, and a few other misc. parts. Hes got wires throughout his whole body so hes possable, though ill have to redo it if I want him to be able to stand up on just one foot Sad
Also you cant tell in the pictures but hes got little thumbs to so in the future i can make him alittle sword and i can bend his lil fingers around it..-if i ever make them-

heres what the comic version of him looks like

Heres the toy version of Usagi that i was trying to match, with a few minor changes due to me just being overly picky

Over all im rather disapointed in the way he turned out, and even more disapointed in my husbands reaction to him. I guess my expectations are to high.

Don't be disappointed!  This bunny turned out RADTASTIC!  He looked great even before I saw the reference picture.  I know what you mean about recipiants being disappointed.  I enjoyed receiving handmade gifts, but really didn't *know* how wonderful they were until I started making gifts myself.  People don't always understand the thought, problem solving, heart, and valuable time put into them, expescially boys!  Take Heart... your bunny is amazing, and I won't be the last to say that!

Usagi Yojimbo! That's awesome! OMG, my DH and DS are going to flip. I have to go call them over...

I understand what you mean about being disappointed in DH's reaction. I'm sorry he wasn't over the moon excited, but your Usagi Yojimbo is just delightful.

I think he turned out great. He looks just like the picture. The fact that you thought of something that your DH really likes, and tried to make him something like it should have thrilled him. At least you know that you tried. Often I get all excited about a project, and it never turns out as great as I envisioned it. It just pushes me to do better next time!
