Here is a piece I made for my friend Jeannie.

A view of it all

Close up

This was made with found materials and acrylic paint.  The twine is held on by hinges that were screwed into the canvas, and there is a little thread spool strung between.
Hope you enjoy!

Let's swap.

Beautiful and so evocative of old,used,worn...everything that is important. What is the background made of?

I absolutely love this piece! The patina, the age, the texture....and especially the spoon/bird's nest!

I love this too. The layering and texture are to die for. Is the nest made out of wire? The speckled paper reminds me of a (robin?) egg.

Thanks guys, the background is just acrylics layered over some old sheet music and book pages.  The nest is just a cheapie from the craft store.  The white speckled paper is actually a graduation program from the 30's (I think) that has rotted so the pages stuck together.
