I worked on a bunch of skirts this past week.  Here's what I came up with!

This one is from a Misfits tee, obviously. I used a bunch of sleeve scraps for the skirt. I left the edges raw and added some little garter clips. Oh yeah, and the belt loops are made of grommet tape!

This Nightmare Before Xmas t-shirt was so cool. It's kind of pop-art-ish and a lot more colorful than most.  If you can even find them in the first place.
I gave it an A-line shape, stripey side panels, and a bunch of pink lace trim.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! With Michelangelo, who happens to be my fave. His face is flocked, which is pretty cool. Stripey side panels, super short.  Some lace and ribbon and ruffled mesh.

Harry Potter skirt with red side panels. It has little star shaped buttons on the waistband! It's not quite a full circle skirt, but it's got some twirl in it.

I think this was my favorite for the week. I was on a kind of a nerd kick. I actually started a Star Wars skirt, but I decided it'd be a better dress.
Super Mario Bros. t-shirt, the lettering has some cool printing effect on it. A clear rubbery layer that makes the letters 3D and shiny.  I gave it a slit and lots of lace trim, and some X belt loops.

I don't know why, but they tend to make a lot of Beatles merch in these super muted colors. I actually think the skirt turned out okay, it just looked slightly out of place with all of the bright neon and primary colors in the others, haha.  A-line shape, double ruffled hem, and a little fold over pocket with button detail that I sort of made up as I went along!

I had the same image from the t-shirt on a poster in my room in high school. Except it was in color, which was awesome because they're standing in a huge garden with these enormous red flowers. It's an awesome picture.

Oh my god, why did I never think to add belt loops.  The beatles and the misfits are the best, though I suppose I have to have love for the mario one Smiley

I love the ninja turtles one the most! I really love the way the colors interact with that one, especially the little bow at the top. They all look so professional and wonderful.
