My family always pulls Christmas crackers like these at Christmas dinner:

Over the years I've accumulated quite a few cheap plastic pearl necklaces from them, and rather than throw them away I  thought I'd do something creative.

This one was restrung on fishing line with red glass seed beads to make a bracelet:

This one couldn't be restrung so I painted it with three layers of nailpolish:

Top tip: don't use glitter polish on jewellery, it itches :-).

This was repainted, varnished and restrung with clear sequins and little black beads to make a necklace and earrings:

The earring beads are actually from the same necklace that I made the above bracelet from, as the original necklace wasn't long enough to make both.

Which one do you like best?

I'm so glad someone else knows what Christmas Crackers are! I had the hardest time trying to get someone in Target to help me find some...they kept directing me to the food section.
The pearls and red are my favorite.

Looking for people to help me fold cranes, please PM me!
