Here's a hypothetical situation:

Say a swap has two or more people who have been flaked on.  Luckily, neither person has sent to their partner because something felt fishy early on.  So they still have their own packages, and let's say that all of these people would be agreeable to swapping the packages with eachother (as long as their interests matched up and whatnot), considering they had enough time to throw in a few angel-specific goodies for their new partner.

Would it still be considered angeling if it was never posted on the Angel board?  Could they still get FOC status?

If this happened, they would each be counted as "replacement partners" for each other, and neither would get FOC status.

An "angel" is someone who sends to a swapper who sent out a package but got nothing in return. The angel does not receive anything in return for what they sent (besides much gratitude and FOC status). Since each of the participants in this case would receive a package in return for theirs, no one would actually be an angel.

Ah, I see.  That makes sense then, thanks.
