I am so psyched! We got this awesome elliptical machine as a Christmas present to ourselves. In order to take the big thing out, my dh had to rip the box apart. I was standng there looking at it...hmmm..."that would make a GREAT dollhouse for dd!"
My husband just kind of gave me one of those "uh huh" answers indicating that he thought I was off to one of my crazy ideas that never work.
The next day (while dh was at work) I was inspired and researched different dollhouse plans and such. Then I went to work!
Here is the box after I cleaned up a bit after dh stopped putting together that dang machine (a part broke and now we have to wait for the repair man - ugh!)

Here are the pieces that I cut up to make the house and the doll that I used to measure everything.
I made a few modifications to the pieces as I went along cuz I found out that I didn't have enough cardboard to make it the way I planned originally.
So here is the final, unfinished house!
DD simply loves it! She plays with it every chance she can! She was so inspired by my mumbling, cutting, taping and such that she went off and came back with this chair!
Isn't cool! It's two foam bowls glued together with the top one cut out to form the seat!
Now I have to paint the house and accessorize. I'll post pics when I'm done!
I'm so excited! My dh is quite impressed!
