Hello all!  Grin

Where can I get the best price on plain white (or cream, or ecru) non-dyed roving and/or top?
(This can be wool or whatever.)

Have you purchased from this business before?

What was your experience with them like?

Did you dye it?

ThAnKs ahead for all the help, I really do appreciate it!

Well, the Sheep Shed Studio sells Brown Sheep Mill Ends for $7.50 per pound.  White roving is available.  http://www.thesheepshedstudio.com/Roving.html

There is a whole topic on this here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=162797.0

I've ordered from the Sheep Shed on numerous occassions and have always been pleased!  Carol usually throws in fun extras, too.  I've ordered black tones (mostly grey) from the main page and sky blue superwash from this page: http://www.thesheepshedstudio.com/NewSuperpage.html.  I've never overdyed it...just don't have the space to dye, unfortunately.

Have fun!   Grin

I have no idea what you're talking about, so here's me with some yarn on my head.

You can dye browns and greys if the fibers are naturally colored and not dyed all ready.
I have done it and it produces dark rich colors. Smiley

I order most of my white rovings from Hello Yarn . The fibers are awesome quality and the service and shipping is very fast.

I would also check out shpherder on ebay - http://myworld.ebay.com/shpherder.  She doesn't always have things listed, but she sells superwash mill end roving for $8/pound and uncarded superwash mill ends for $4/pound (plus shipping).

I've purchased white superwash wool and white superwash merino/viscose roving from her, and they were both really nice.  I dyed both of them, and I thought they took the color really well.  You can see pictures of the dyed merino/viscose in my latest blog post - http://sarahbird.wordpress.com.
