I made these great bags for a couple of crafty ladies I know who tote their knitting around in kroger plastic grocery bags. They were super easy to make. See below!

Closeups:

I used RIT dye on some plain white Tote bags that I got from Michael's. The flapper and the turntable images came from a website (www.chucklescentral.com). I simply cut the shapes out of felt and hotglued them onto the bag. I am sure that it wouldn't stand up to a washing machine, but for a lightly used tote I think they look uber cool.

I'm the proud owner of the yellow turntable bag.  It looks even hotter in person!  I feel like the belle of the ball when I carry it around!

I can't wait to try making some too.  Thanks Miss C.   Kiss

Those look so great!

Miss C, you just made me have a "why the heck didn't I think of that?!?!" moment! I love those pre-made canvas totes, too. I buy them all the time, but I always complain about the crummy color selection. I hadn't even considered dyeing one until you just mentioned it! The funny thing is that at my local AC Moore, the fabric dye is even right next to the canvas totes. Duh!

Those are awesome.  The dye colors turned out surprisingly sharp.  I'm gonna have to do some canvas tote dying now.  The felt "drawings" are super cute too.

I will PM you the link. Also, does anyone know if I am allowed to just put up the link. They sell bags with these designs on them. They sew on fabric. I just hot glued felt. I don't want to step on any legal toes.

I am just going to take a chance that I am not doing anything unethical or illegal by shouting to the hills. The site I got the design off of is www.chucklescentral.com. I love all thier stuff. Hope you do too.
