So, I had these jeans.  They were too big.  I thought I could take them in, but really the rise was too long and that's too complicated for me to fix.  So, I was inspired by Sabertooth Pixie and her utilikilt here and made this skirt. My pleats are different from hers, and I swear they look better in real life than in pictures.  Oh, and I know the original leg seams of the jeans are off kilter in my skirt, but I don't care I think I'll wear it anyway!

Now, main question: I'm 32.  Am I too old to wear this?

Well done recon. The skirt is really cute and it looks great on you. If you like it and you feel comfortable in it, there's no good reason not to wear it,  Grin

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

Okay-, first off, I love it.  So cute.
2nd, 32 too old? Hmmm...I'm 31 and have been wrestling with this as well with my fullish/pleated skirts.  I think that with solid tights it will be fine, or even with a funky t shirt, but you'll want to avoid anything too juvenile on top, or anything too matronly.  Maybe.  If I hadn't been sorting out my own wardrobe today, I would have said "of course not"--but, he- you got my response tonight.
It is really really cute though.

Great job!  I doesn't really even look like a recon.  I'm 36 I think you could wear it in spring/summer with the right nice sandals and an age appropriate top or now with a sweater and leggings and flats or tights and boots for a less casual look.

Thanks y'all!  I don't even own t-shirts with sayings on them, except my work shirts with the company logo, heh. Speaking of too old, though, I am working on another skirt from a pair of black pants from years ago that have grommets and lace all up the sides.  If I can get it to work, I have no idea where I would wear it, other than DragonCon where you can wear anything.   Smiley

cutest jeans to skirt I have seen to date. I think it is adorable and that you are just young enough to rock it out loud!

That looks great! I agree with everyone else about what to wear with it and wearing it if you want to.
