But..how in the world did I get this made?? I took sooo many photo's of this bag just as a memento of my achievement..since I shipped it off this morning. As you guys know I am new to sewing..about a month now, and this is my first major undertaking, making a handbag from scratch. I made 3 simple flat pouches in the past, but this was on a whole different scale, took me almost 2 days to complete haha. This is the gift I made for an international secret santa gift exchange (she only likes green really). I searched town frantically, even got robbed, but I never found anything that I liked for my girl, so I carefully selected this top quality fabric for her to attempt making her a bag. The max for the exchange was 25 bucks, and the fabric cost 18US alone lol, but it was so worth it. I used an antiwue gold button on the front, and vintage scroll chain on the front. (ps. I cut off the extra chain that was hanging at the sides after the photo was taken). I was hoping I sewed the pockets abit better, but I tried my best.

I love it, do you think that she will? and what do you think of it

The large handbag, matching pouch I made with the left over material, and earrings

Handbag alone

How the bag hangs.

Inside the bag. it has a pocket for her cell, ipod, and another for keys etc.

Pouch/wallet/cosmetic purse etc.

It has 2 pockets for credit cards, and one for larger cards such as video membership cards. A medium pocket for coins, etc, and a large pocket for cash.

and lastly..I hope it is ok to post these? I also made these earrings for her. The hooks are sterling silver, the rest is oxidized silver with green rhinestones, and it can be worn 2 ways depending on which ear they are worn on.

First way (green, with leaf stampings)

Second way (silver mirrors with flower stampings)

Thank you for looking, and sorry for the long write up

That bag is beautiful!
I love it!  I'm sure she will too.  The fabric is just gorgeous.
You did a great job for not having sewed very long!
Oh...  the earrings are beautiful as well!   Smiley

Thanks everyone for the compliments. The photo's don't do the fabric justice. I don't like green, but it is very rich and beautiful. I hope she likes the.
