I've been up to my elbows in Christmas knitting. I opted to do hats cause everyone needs a hat and I can finish one in a few hours. Here are my first two completed ones.

Natty from knitandtonic.net. I made this one for my long lost sister, iterally. She's been gone for nearly 10 years, and she came back this spring Smiley.  When I asked her what she would like for Christmas, she said wanted me to make her something. So here it is, a hat thats chock full 'o love.

I used less than one ball of Patons Rumor and size 10.5 needles. It's so soft and warm. I want to make one for myself. (Please ignore the horrible clashing with my hair. Sister is blonde, so it will look awesome on her lol)

This hat was made for a very good friend of mine. We agreed on crafty presents this year so I took her to the yarn aisle at the craft store, and let her pick which yarn she wanted. Then I let her pick the style. So here is a cabled tuque in lion brand homespun 'delft blue' The pattern is self-made, but really basic. The yarn is horrible though! I will never use it again! It has no elasticty at all, and it's squeaky. I've already thrown away the rest of the ball. And notice the subtle stripes? Yeah, those weren't mentioned on the label. I was pretty pissed.

See them now? Anyway, i'm sure my friend will love I anyway, but I'm not happy with it Sad

I craft so I can avoid reality.....

Ooohhh... I have experience with that yarn too.... I found a bigger hook/needle work best.  Just one or two sizes bigger than it calls for and has to be worked loosly.  I didn't see any stripes.  I think they both look great though.
