I came across these pictures in a livejournal community. I'm not even entirely sure who this girl is, but I love this dress and I'd really like to make something comparable for New Year's Eve this year. I'm not entirely sure it's designer, but I don't think it's homemade. I would wing it (and could), but I'd prefer to use a pattern (as I'm in the midst of law school finals and want to have it done in like a week and a half since I'm going out of town before New Years). I couldn't find anything in my searches on various pattern websites, but I figured I'd give it a shot and see if anyone here had any suggestions. I'd really appreciate any help! Thank you in advance!!

Is that the kid from Malcolm in the Middle?

If u use that butterick pattern you'll have to alter the triangle v-neck so that it gives that deep v impression shouldn't be too hard.. but in the girls dress is there a band or are those pleats under her bust??

Vogue V8386 has possibilities. View C without the sash would give the deep v with the pleats uder the bust. It would be easy enough to adjust the straps.

This one has the two-part bust and under bust pleats but has a different back

I hope these help

Geesh, who knew there were so many law students on craftster! I just finished up my first round of finals as a 1L -- so good luck on yours!!

I saw something similar in the butterick patterns, but obviously you are going to have to come up with something on your own for those pleats at the waistline. Those are pretty unique.
