So DBF asked me one night to make him a sleeve for his coffee (he gets about 2-3 sstarbucks ventis a day... sheesh... anyway, he hates using the cardboard sleeves they have. He also asked for a finger warmer, and this is what i came up with:

then i got requests after i showed a few of my girlfriends (who paid me for them! woohoo!)

i've made 3 more since those 4, all going to good homes. I know its's probably taken, but i'm calling them "green sleeves" for now. alot of our friends are coffee drinkers / greenies and love the idea. Stocking stuffers, here i come!!

Awesome job! These are great!! I've been wanting to make something like this for the coffee addicts in my family! They would make great stocking stuffers! Smiley

What kind of yarn did you use for these?

I used leftover yarn i had from making all the hats i am giving to the kids in the family for christmas... so there's lion jiffy, red hear super saver, bernat softee chunky... and i *think* that's it... yeah. I believe those are the only yarns i have right now. Smiley

the ones that cover almost the whole cup have bottoms to them. It's all done in the round. i didn't work from a pattern, just made it up as i went. The hardest part was getting it to gradually widen as i got towards the top. I can maybe work on writing a pattern down but all i really did was sit with an extra cup he'd washed out for me and tested it as i went. I undid all of them at least 2 times before finishing them... LOL
