These two shirts were taking up space in a drawer like so many of the ones that I haven't taken scissors to yet. I wore the ripped up one around the house sometimes, but the other one was too tight so I never wore it. I kept it cause it was a Harley shirt and I liked the fabric. I wasn't hesitant to take the scissors to either of them cause frankly I don't give a crap about either of them any more... I just don't care.

I cut off the front placket with the hook tape on it. The next pic is of how I cut the placket at the neckline.

Here's the plackets all ready to sew on. I ironed them just to make it easier.

These next 3 pics show how I plan to sew them on. They'll fit nicely. Just overlap and sew.

Now I hooked all the hooks. That way the ends will come out even because even though I dont' care that much... I wanted it to be even, at least sort of, somewhat.

A pin at the top on each side and a pin at the bottom on each side and ... Wait... what color thread? ohh I just don't care...shazam It's done. (when I just don't care it's usually pink)

Now for the other shirt... The one I cut the placket offa. Lay it out flat and even...

Make a straight line

Cut on that straight line

Here it is

And this is what I wanted it for. It seems that it doesn't fit too well, but I just don't care.

Sew it on... uhh sure enough, it doesn't fit too well... but... I just don't care. I'll figure something out.

I'll get back to that later when I think of something. I gotta move on to something else

Does this thing make my Butt look BIG??!!  Holy crap

Well there's not a whole lot I can do about that, not today at least... and frankly, I just don't care.

I know... The neckline. I'm thinking of taking the neckline off the one I'm parting out and putting it on the other. That will make sort of a double neckline.

It worked. It made exactly a double neckline I left the tag in the old one and just sewed it down. It doesn't fit exactly but heck... I just don't care

The sleeves were too short... gotta make them longer.. Cut first.

Then cut a piece of the old one

Then sew them on... they're kinda bunchy I guess but... hell I just don't care.

Oh yah I gotta fix that short place in the front. This blue  flowered cotton looks ok I guess... heck ..I just don't care.

That came out ok... yah, it's ok.

Now about that tightness in the bottom area cause of my big butt. I really don't care about that. Having a big butt I mean.

Measure carefully and cut straight up to the seam. I cut 4 places. Decide what fabric to fill in with... I just don't care...

I decided 'rather uncaringly' on this flowery leafy stuff I've had for centuries. Cut 4 pieces larger than the opening and sew it on freestyle on the inside by stitching on the outside. I left enough fabric for a hem cause that would look better but I didn't trim off any of the access fabric on the inside cause... you guessed it... I just don't care.

Before hemming (inside view)

After hemming (outside view) back and front

I fixed the neckline by sewing some cut cute pieces of cotton tulip fabric on there. I didn't hem it or anything cause... I just don't care

Totally finished front

Totally finished back

It's kinda crooked in some places but... I just don't care
It's a little shorter in the back than in the front cause of my big butt but...  I just don't care
It's too tight to wear alone so I have to wear a shirt or tank under and wear it open except for one or two hooks but... I just don't care...

Making a no care shirt was fun. You dont' worry so much about stuff not coming out too well cause, well... You Just Don't Care.....  take life in stride and above all Have Loads of Fun........

pretty darn overhauled for not caring!  You have way more persistance than I do, I would have made one or 2 cuts and called it done

Very cute! Great job not caring!

I too am totally upset that they are taking the servers down to fix things. Why can't they just let things stay broken? I don't care if I can't move due to lag or if quests are bugged. If I leave my room my mom may make me get a job.

Thanks! Everyone! Grin

I care.............. but.............. you know.......... it's kind of a oxymoron
Thanks for all the sweet replies..

And thanks to all of you! Yall are great! I owe all of you and this place so much. I've learned so many ways of doing things since I've been here... and that's kinda what this post is about. This project went so smoothly because enough of the trauma of a noob is gone so that I can just cut and sew... just like that. It's nothing spactacular but for two old shirts made into one it's pretty OK. Now I know I can whip through more stuff in my over-stuffed drawers and closets and end up with stuff that I can actually wear!

So to any noobs who are feeling the apprehension of cutting stuff, what to do with stuff,  where to sew what to what... hang in there. I promise it gets easier and more fun!
