was it knit in stockinette stick or was it ribbed or what?

The picture I saw was stockinette stitch but had a row of plain knit to mark a 'brim' type thing. There is a picture on a thread called One Hour Hat. I don't think it would matter. I think you could use whatever stitch you wanted.
