I just found out that you can start tomatoes from cuttings!  Who knew?
(choose new growth, like the last 10" of a branch.  Root in soil.)
Mine showed new growth quickly, and one is already blooming only 4 weeks later.

All from a fabulous plant that didn't do much last summer, but overwhelmed us with tomatoes all winter long.  These guys might do the same, but I'd love another winter full of yummy!
