there's a special place in heaven for all who quilt. this is my 4th attempt at making one. i'm proud of it - even though it's small (about the size of a throw) and most of the details leave much to be desired. i made it out of flannel and fleece so i wouldn't have to mess with batting.

oh, and it'll probably take me 3 more years to make another  Undecided

It's beautiful. I like the fabrics--it looks almost antique.
I've never quilted myself, and I don't know that I'd have the patience really...

It's gorgeous. I've had fleece sitting in storage for three months while I've tried to figure out how to make a baby blanket from it, since three of the five fabrics have an identical pattern. That pattern you used is perfect. Is it a cathedral windows quilt? I feel inspired!

Yay you! I am *very* impressed with your mitered corners! They are on my list of challenges.... Smiley

Loving the plaid, too!

it took me forever to do and i found out through the process that i don't have the patience for quilting either. for a while it calmed my o.c.d. tendencies -then it just made me mad.
oh, and i have no idea what a cathedral pattern is - i just kinda winged it. i cut out 12 inch squares of fleece, clipped the corners, and sewed them together leaving a 2 inch border to work with on the front. the fleece had very forgiving qualities making it easier to miter the corners and not have a hem (not to mention hiding the mistakes).
i actually had the foresight to cut the flannel out in long strips and then on to about 9 inch squares so they would line up inside their windows. then i just layed them flat under the fleece.

thank you all so much for your encouragement!

Gosh 3 years isn't so bad, I have some squares that I made about 6 years or more ago and they still aren't a quilt. I think your quilt is so very nice. Maybe I'll get busy and finish mine up.
