These are great....They'd be perfect for the little girls I teach at church...were they hard to make?

Ok I am going to try my hand at a tutorial.

Three pieces to the pattern
1) body 4 1/2 x 4 3/4 cut on fold. Cut 1 for the inside cut 1 for outside, cut 1 fusible fleece.

2)Flap 4 3/8 x 6 3/8 round the edges. Cut one for out side. cut 1 for inside, cut 1 fleece, cut 1 for inside of zipper area. ( I put a coordinating fabric because it may show when you open it.

3) Gusset 2 1/8 x 4  round bottom of edges, cut 2 for inside, cut 2 for outside. cut 2 for fuse fleece

Strap--- 1 Cut a piece of material 2 1/2 in in width and how ever long you want it.

I iron on the fuse web at this time.

I start with the flap. IF you put a zipper in it I cut the flap at 3 1/2 inches from the bottom. I than fold and iron the edges where I cut the flap and add the zipper. ( You do not have to put a zipper in)

Than put your coordinating fabric for inside of zipper area right side touching the wrong side of fabric. turn your fabric with right side touching . sew sides and bottom rounded side leaving the top open.
( I have had a few problems with sewing over the zipper.)

Turn fabric and iron flat

I than put the body together. I place round gusset in the center facing the outer side of back for the inside I do this with right side togeather. outside wrong side together. I sew half moon shape on the gusset than I pull up on side at a time. I start sewing from the top to meet the at the middle of the gusset and I repeat on the other side of the gusset. I do the same on the other side of the body. I make 1 for inner and 1 for outer.

I than put my lining on the inside of the outside part of the body.
I fold down and pin the inner and outer Place the flap in the back between the lining and the outside of bag. I place my strap on the side where I want them. I than sew along the out side of the purse.
This is very tricky because it is small.

I hope this helps.

Awesome tute! I made one up this afternoon and it took me a little over an hour. Not bad for the first one! I will post a picture as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for sharing this with us!
