I mean the kind that are enclosed with glass and a couple of inches of depth...hopefully you know what I mean! I know you can buy them at retail stores, but I'd love to find a resource for buying in bulk. The shipping would be a real pita I'm sure but I'm hoping it'd be cheaper on the whole. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Eta: Has anyone ever made shadowboxes? Is it expensive to have glass cut to size? This could be an option if there aren't any good resources to buy them.

I don't know about making shadow boxes, but getting glass cut to size by a glazier (at a glass shop) is often quite a bit cheaper than having it cut to size at a frame shop.

I just bought some shadow boxes at Ikea for a very good price compared to most retail shops, but they have limited/odd sizes and of course, not everyone is near an Ikea.  Not sure if you can get that product online.

Good luck!

is the outside finished or unfinished in the bulk that you'd like to buy..reason I ask is because the dollar tree has a bunch of shadowboxes & the outside is wooden-it comes in square or rectangle and the framing is unfinished wood..

its ME!!
