I've never embroidered, and was wondering, how long did that even take? It looks so time consuming,  but well worth the effort.

Well, I suspect I may be a slow embroider-er, but I think the dryad probably took 100+ hours. I got so frantic toward the end in trying to make the deadline that it's hard for me to estimate, because it felt like I was doing it all the time. But doing longer backstitches made a big difference in the time it took; unfortunately there were a lot of sections where I had to use smaller stitches. The sun-man only took about 12 hours though, and that was mostly because of satin stitch.
