I saw this on the Carol Duvall Show the other day and thought it was an awesome idea. I'm definitely going to try it. I hardly ever watch that show but now I think I'm gonna make a point to watch it every morning before I go to school.

This might be a good idea for a craft challenge. ::moves eyebrows up and down::

My husband made a very nice fountain for our living room a few years ago from a large pot and some junk lying around, mainly.  He bought a large plastic pot with no hole in the bottom, set bricks inside to build everything up to the top and put plants on the bricks around in the pot.  The fountain is our long-deceased dog's dish in a heavy beige plastic and has a tiny pump, polished stones and water.  Once in a while I have to clean the dish and pump but besides adding water and watering the plants, that's about the only maintenance involved.  The splash is wonderfully soothing.  I should mention that it sits on the floor not a tabletop.
