So I hope this is the right place to post this, let me know if it isn't.

I had to share this experience:

Last night was Alonzo King's LINES Ballet 25th Anniversary Gala. For those of you who do not know LINES Ballet is a world renown contemporary ballet company. Collen Quen has created several costumes for LINES (last night both pieces were designed by her). They are simply amazing costumes in both the design and how the costumes move with the dancers. I spent a good portion of the  performance captivated by the costumes alone ( not to stay that the dancers were not amazing, they were).

After the performance, I was at the reception with a friend when I saw Colleen Quen. I decided that I didn't care if I made a complete fool of myself, I had to express my admiration for her work. So I went and introduced myself and gushed over her costumes. She was incredibly generous and nice. She asked if I was a fashion student and I explained that I was a dancer in love with costume design. She gave me her card, told me to call her in December and she would set up a time that I could come see her studio!!!! I received a personal invitation from Collen Quen! I could not believe it. I managed to contain of my excitement, but inside I felt like jumping up and down.

I wanted to tell everyone but most of my friends are not into design. So I decided I would share with the lovely Craftsters who would understand my excitement. Grin
